Katuna is a town in Kabale District of Uganda at the border with Rwanda. Katuna is a major entrance point to Rwanda and handles most of Rwanda’s imports and exports as most goods from the coast to Rwanda pass through Uganda.
In East Africa, the Northern and Central Transport Corridors connect the people of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Additionally, these corridors also provide port access to the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo and southern Sudan. Trade along the corridors has a positive impact on the region and many initiatives have been undertaken to improve corridor efficiency.
