Job Description

  • Effective Management of projects and timely provision of deliverables.
  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Preparation of programme budgets and reviews.
  • Preparation of periodic and timely donor reports for internal use.
  • Creating and strengthening partnerships with the government and other organizations.
  • Profiling the Organization among partners.
  • Documentation of project success stories and lessons learned.
  • Representing North Star Alliance in relevant meetings and other forums.
  • Resource mobilization through funding proposals and other avenues.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned by the Senior Program Manager from time to time.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Community Health, Community Development, Social Work, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other related disciplines.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Project Implementation/Management within the health
    and/or non-profit sector.
  • Experience in implementing a TB program would also be desirable.
  • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Strong personality with good leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Energetic and balanced
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Must be proficient in both oral and written English and Kiswahili

HIV Testing and Counselling Provider - Nakuru County

Job Description

  • Create awareness and provide education about the existence of HIV testing services.
  • Lead in the mobilization of clients for HTS.
  • Provide pre/post-test HIV counselling ensuring that clients understand risk factors, prevention methods, and other relevant issues.
  • Provide confidential HIV testing to clients, as per national HTS guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing counselling and make relevant referrals for ongoing support.
  • Always ensure the quality of HTS services.
  • Ensure a sufficient supply of test kits and consumables at the Centre.
  • Document and maintain accurate HTS records including referrals and report on referral outcomes.
  • Compile and submit HTS reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis within set deadlines to the supervisor.
  • Timely requests for all the necessary consumables for undertaking HTS activities.
  • Meet all performance targets.
  • Refer all cases requiring specialized care and management to relevant health facilities and or services.
  • Organize outreach activities in collaboration with other partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in Peer Education activities.
  • Participate in HTS QA activities like PT, counselling supervision, etc.
  • Ensure HTS optimization in the facility.
  • Provide safe index services to all new clients and all priority populations.
  • Participate in outreach activities.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma-level course in social or health sciences.
  • 2 years’ experience in VCT work.
  • Certificate in HTS accredited by NASCOP.
  • Conducted and Passed Proficiency Tests.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  • Excellent written, listening, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.

  • Oversee outreach activities within the assigned project site in liaison with other team members.
  • Determine the health and communication needs of the target populations and make recommendations for continuation of or change in services.

Clinical Officer - Nakuru County

Job Description

• Examining, diagnosing, treating and counselling target groups at the RWC.
• Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) among long-distance truck drivers, sex workers and the community members with whom they interact. This shall be done in accordance with the National guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health or other relevant Ministries.
• Ensure effective use of syndromic approach to the management of STIs, Malaria and other common illnesses.
• Management of Opportunistic Infections (OIs).
• Screening for Tuberculosis.
• Administration and management of ART.
• Adherence to the monitoring of the use of medication particularly for TB and HIV cases.
• Develop proper records of all HIV and infected patients served and follow-ups.
• Provide health education and counselling to the truck drivers, commercial sex workers and communities with whom they interact
• Recording data according to North Star Alliance’s specifications.
• Preparing and submitting reports within set deadlines.
