JOB DESCRIPTION | § Receive prescriptions from clients § Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting doctors’ orders § Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals § Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection control protocols § Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding refilling medication § Comply with all applicable legal rules regulations, and procedures § Ensure that treatments are compatible with the medication issued § Check dosage and ensure that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled § Keep a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes § Advise patients of any adverse side effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments § Liaise with doctors about prescriptions, Sell over-the-counter medicines § Maintain supplies movement records § Check inventory and restock drugs and other supplies as necessary § Any other duties which may be assigned by the Head of the Clinic from time to time. |
QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENT | We are looking for an outgoing person with excellent selling and marketing skills in addition to being a qualified and experienced Pharmacy Technologist. · At least a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution. · Registered and Licensed with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board · Over 2 years’ relevant experience in a reputable health institution/facility · Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands, etc · Proven experience as a pharmaceutical technologist · Customer friendly · Ability to multitask · Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems · Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach Integrity and compassion · Strong personality with good leadership skills · Ability to prepare timely reports · Proficient in English and Kiswahili · IT literate (Word, Excel and internet) |
