As a Communications Intern, with a special focus on digital communications, you will work closely with the Communications Manager to look after the digital aspects of internal and external communications for North Star Alliance.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Tasks for the Intern Position include, but are not limited to;
- Research, write and create content for North Star’s blog and social media accounts
- Schedule and post North Star’s blog pieces and social media content regularly ensuring adequate coverage
Monitor and report on results of blog and social media coverage - Ensure North Star’s digital elements are kept up to date and fresh, with current information across all pages
- Help to create a positive and engaging environment in the internal communications site, Space Station
- Assist in pushing out North Star branded campaigns internally and externally
- Establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide production support for a wide range of digital and in-print marketing and communications materials, including presentations, reports, proposals, training materials, brochures, etc
- Assist with tactical coordination including data administration, digital library management (logos, photos, graphic files), proofing process, approvals, content/version tracking and coordination of distribution channels
- Research new marketing and communication tools, concepts, and strategies, as well as other awareness opportunities, such as awards, presentations, conference attendance etc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Completed/currently completing University degree/College diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken), with an emphasis on writing in English
- Ability to match communications style (eg, voice, style, format) with audience
- Energetic and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
- Positive-minded personality with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate sensitively across cultures
- Customer service-focused with an ability to work collaboratively with others
- Willingness to learn while doing and a passion to make a difference
- Ability to multitask and prioritise, with a strong sense of organisation tempered by flexibility and adaptability
- Experience in social media and coordinating online communities
- Familiarity with WordPress
- Graphic design ability a plus
- Must identify with and demonstrate the North Star DNA Values
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Position: 32-40h/week
Length: min. 9 months, max. 12 months
Location: Utrecht, the Netherlands
Reports to: Communications Manager
Start date: as soon as possible 2017
Stipend: €400/month (based on 40 hour week)
