The countdown is on! With only two weeks until the 22nd International AIDS Conference kicks off in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, North Star Alliance is proud to share that we will be present across multiple mediums at the conference from 23-27 July. Alongside welcoming our peers, partners and colleagues to our Dutch homeland, North Star is excited to see the months of planning and concepts brought to life, and especially to invite visitors to our exhibition booth on a special personal tour to Kenya!
The majority of the International AIDS Conference (AIDS2018) activity will centre around Amsterdam’s RAI Convention Centre, and it is here that North Star is sharing our story from multiple angles and in a wide range of formats. From sitting on panels in satellite sessions, through to speaking at partner events, running our own partner networking event, and sharing meaningful conversations, the centre of our own activities is our exhibition booth.
With all of our activity taking place in sub-Saharan Africa, our ultimate aim was to find a way to bridge the geographical distance between Africa and the Netherlands while drawing the attention to the Power of Many that brings our organisation to life. Our triple-sized NGO exhibition booth (#640) can be found by the cafeteria in the Global Village, and we hope it will truly transport visitors to our many clinics across Africa.
Our installation of a small shipping container, styled into a replica mini-clinic, gives visitors a feel for what our clinics look like on the ground. At the same time, out brilliant 360° virtual reality tour of our clinic in Jomvu, brings guests instantly to Kenya using the truly immersive Oculus-Go headsets!!
For now, the team returns to the grindstone to bring together this exciting event. This is only a teaser of our full activities, and we can’t wait to share more soon!
What next? Put it in your diary! If you’re in Amsterdam between Monday 23 and Friday 27 July, pop into the RAI Conference Centre and check out our amazing booth in the Global Village anytime between 08:30 and 18:00. The Global Village is completely free and open to the general public as well as AIDS2018 delegates, and will be a vibrant meeting place for many actors within the HIV field.
