Who is involved
North Star was established in November 2006 by commercial logistics provider TNT and the United Nations World Food Programme. In 2007, the group of core supporters was expanded to include the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and UNAIDS. In 2009, the group again expanded to include systems developer ORTEC as the newest core partner.

What we do
North Star offers a full range of services related to the establishment and running of roadside clinics in transport hubs and/or border crossing transport stops. Working with local implementing partners we can source, outfit, supply and staff new centres.

North Star Alliance is using best practices in supply chain management, innovations in network technology and inside knowledge of the transport industry to establish a network of access points (“Wellness Centres”) providing front-line prevention and treatment services to transporters, sex workers and transport community members.
