Celebrity Partners
At North Star Alliance, we are not the only ones to recognise that, when celebrities speak, people listen. Consequently, in August 2010, we launched a comprehensive Ambassadors and Celebrity Partners Programme to promote awareness of our work.
The programme invites celebrities or other well known personalities to act as Global, National and Regional Ambassadors or Celebrity Partners, depending on the amount of commitment and support they can give to our organisation. Despite their busy schedules, their work to promote North Start Alliance is always seen as invaluable and their role is continually promoted across the organisation.
Regional Ambassador
The most recent celebrity to join as an Ambassador to North Star Alliance is former international cricketer, Mpumelelo “Mpume” Mbangwa, who represented Zimbabwe in the international cricket arena and who, more recently, has made his name as a television commentator for the sport. Mpume says that his endorsement of North Star Alliance stems from the responsibility he feels towards the African community and he is keen to reach out to men and boys, to urge them to take responsibility for their health. As a pillar of the African sporting community, Mpume is an excellent role model and a positive example of what it means to live a healthy, balanced life. We are very grateful for his support.
